In my personal opinion the story, "The Minister's Black Veil", is a triumph one. I think it is because he is able to get his lesson across about the black veil. He is able to get it across that they all have "black veils", that they are all keeping secrets. tyler g
I believe that "The Minister's Black Veil," is a triumph, because he was able to recognize his sinful behavior. He was able to realize his mistake and rather than ignoring it, he suffered each and everyday. he wore the veil, to show that the others in the congregation were holding on to secret sins and that everyone shoudl wear/ or is wearing veils because of all the sins that they have committed. Because he was able to get his message across and inform all of the people about his mistake and their mistakes ultimately. He tried to wake the people in the congregation up, so they could too recognize their sins and their mistakes, so that they wouldn't judge but realize that they too were wearing veils. jasmin Martin
I think that the story is a tragedy because he commits adultry and this takes over the rest of his life causing him to loose Elizabth and everyone he had in his life. The veil drew people away from him leaving him with no one, but even once he realizes this he still refuses to take it off. His decision and how he chooses to try and make up for it causes his life to fall apart leaving me to belive that the story is more of a tragedy than a triumph. -Sammi
I find "The Minister's Black Veil" to be a triumph due to the fact that Hooper was able to get his point across so drastically. In attempting to show his congregation that they all had veils and secrets covering their own faces and hearts, he ended up alone and practically friendless, which only proved his point of judgment. -Maddy Fitzsimmons
the black veil is about triumph, not tragedy, although the minister does die at the end. the triumph is shown by the minister when he wears the black veil and acts completely normal about it even though it is a rather unique article of clothing. He is triumphant by not letting his odd article of clothing get in his way and he knows people think its weird but he wears it to be unique and to freak people out.
the minister's black veil is a triumph becuase in the story Hooper is able to get his point across the table. He is able to show that everyone has secrets, everyone sins, so everyone has there own black veils.

I believe that the story of "The Minister's Black Veil" is one of triumph. Even though the minister was suffering he was eventually successful in proving a point and having great influence on other people. He was also able to recognize his sin and tried to use his negative and sinning nature and to turn it into productive sermons and allegories for others to live their lives by. Also another way he was triumphant in was to never let others control him, influence him, or take advantage of him. Even though many people told him to take the veil off he never did. He stood up for what he believed in and in the end was triumphant.
I Think that "The Ministers Black Veil" to be triumph one beacause it shows that he was able to overcome all of his sins throughout his life. Also because he is acting completly normal even though the is wearing this out of the ordinary piece of clothing.
"The Minister's Black Veil" is a story of tragedy. The minister exposes everyone and says that all people are sinners. He accuses everyone in his church of sinning and that everyone shows a false personality around others. They do not want other people to know how they are actually dishonest and put up a false identity to please others. -Reilly Aguiar
When you're assigned a blog post I'm looking for depth of insight and engagement with the text or whatever topic we're exploring.
Insight doesn't mean you have to know everything, and often there may not be a "right" answer, it just means that you're delving beneath the surface, making connections, asking good questions, and pulling pieces (quotes and examples) from the text to support your ideas.
I also want you to read and respond to your peers' posts. Think of it as a collaboration and try not to simply repeat what others say but to reinforce, question, and expand on ideas.
Finally, do your best with spelling and grammar, but don't stress about it- the blog is less formal- I want the ideas to flow!
**Don't forget to sign your first name at the end of your post so you can get credit for your amazing ideas!
