  1. "Wilson? He thinks she goes to see her sister in New York. He's so dumb he doesn't know he's alive." (pg.26)

This quote shows Tom's disregard of his mistress's husband. It also shows that he is rather arrogant and rude as he belittles George Wilson's intelligence.

  2. "Its A B**ch, Here's your money. Go and byuy ten more dogs with it"(Page 28 Blue Book (no yellow line thingy))

In this quote Tom Buchanon is buying Silly Stubby Myrtle9000 an Airedale. Tom doesnt seem to have a heart for a feminine side to things and always preferes to b aggressive rather than having peaceful perspective. for example instead saying it will be a pain in the butt or its annoying he calls the pup a b**ch.

  3. "Civilization's going to pieces, I've gotten to be a terrible pessimist about things. Have you read 'The Rise of the Colored Empires' by this man Goddard?...It's up to us, who are the dominant race, to watch out or these other races will have control of things." (12-13).

    Analsis:
This reveals that Tom is a very aggressive man with racial views. He believes that there is white supremacy and believes that the other races are inferior. By reading this particular book, Tom's choices in entertainment seem to be harsh and sickening because he find interest in dehumanizing others in the society he lives in and in the world around him. Also, by reading this book and reacting in a strong way like he did, shows that Tom is an aggressive and strong minded person. With his attitude and views on the world, he feels that he can do and say whatever is on his mind and whatever he is feeling.

"Before I could reply that he was my neighbor dinner was announced; edging his tense arm imperatively under mine, Tom Buchanan compelled me from the room as though he were moving a checker to another square."

    Analysis:
This reveals that Tom is a bold character because he thinks he can do whatever he wants. He is so arrogant he thinks he is the boss and he can just take Nick and throw him to the dinner table.
